Donnie Rawlen keeps no bag. If it doesn't fit in his jacket or pants pockets, he doesn't keep it with him.  Luckily, he has a large inner jacket pocket to store his most valuable possessions. After completing my Poetry Art Assignment, I decided to peruse through the rest of the visual assignments. One assignment, "Shiny Like Silk", really stood out to me. Ever since I got my first computer at age 10, I have always had either a cosmic or abstract style desktop wallpaper. I have a huge folder on my computer dedicated to and filled with both styles of...

When scrolling through the assignment bank this week, I didn't have to look far in order to find one that piqued my interests.  I've mentioned before that I've had to read a lot of children's books, being a father.  So I immediately thought of those books, and how my child loves to point out the pictures, almost entirely ignoring the accompanying story or poetry.  So,...

Before reading anything about photography and ways to improve my own, I believe myself to be a mediocre photographer. I know how to hold a camera steady, and usually take three to four photos per shoot, in order to have a selection to pick "the best" from. I like to focus on one object or person, thinking this should capture that image in as-close-to-perfect-as-possible positioning....

I pretty much Tweeted my entire thought process for the week,  I'll begin with those, chronologically: [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558276531256975360[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558279130743992320[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558279762380996610[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558282993379180544[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558287041213919234[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558421383210754050[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558428583723417601[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558500823685029888[/embed] https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558788141683707905 [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558835029342564354[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/558983795227901952[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559096782320590848[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559097528986386434[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559135834847199232[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559164111372566528[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559203641681125377[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559216035711045632[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559248652628004865[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559279146371522562[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559307960766058496[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559400208761516033[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559402438956818433[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559414016359927809[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559417371496939520[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559418349642194945[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559451066685616128[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559479537247875072[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559483527587065857[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559489950354112512[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559497672906649602[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559498268841746432[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559500327603302401[/embed] [embed]https://twitter.com/spencer_cscott/status/559509959101009920[/embed] I think that pretty much sums up my week, but I'll continue for detail and...summation's sake....

I'm going to do this out of order here, for the sake of parallel structure with this post's title. I was a bit creeped out by what I'd like to call the Wall of Eyes. But still, I obliged for the sake of Daily Create. https://www.flickr.com/photos/128935964@N07/16166168137/ I don't really think there's much to develop for this particular Daily Create, I took a picture of my...

This is for my Haiku Recipe Assignment.   "Apple Pie" Sugar, flour, salt, Cinnamon, apple, in crust, Bake forty minutes.   I'm hungry. I stayed up late last night and finished off the blueberry muffins my wife made for me yesterday.  She's a phenomenal baker, and loves to bake for the family.  My toddler loves apples: green apples, red apples, applesauce, cinnamon applesauce, berry applesauce, banana...

This is my alternative ending of Ernest Hemingway's "The Killers" Nick walked up the dark street to the corner under the arc-light, and then along the car-tracks to Henry's eating house. George was inside, back of the counter. "Hey, bright boy," Nick hears, as a car stops beside him. "You're alright, you know that?" he's asked.  Before he reaches the building, he turns in search of the voice....

I can see why James Cain's The Postman Always Rings Twice was required reading for this week.  The drifter and the femme fatale, booze, fast cars, murder, mystery,  romance, corrupt police, blackmail, adultery, and even a crooked lawyer are all present.  I can see why it was made into a movie in 1946 and again, in 1981. [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="214"] 1946[/caption] [caption id="" align="alignright" width="214"] 1981[/caption] I was indifferent,...
